About Us

Park Towne Corporation is a family owned Madison, WI based Real Estate Company. We have three divisions: development, realty, and property management.

Park Towne has been developing real estate in south central Wisconsin for over forty years. The original partners, Gerald Ring, Gerard Dohm and John DeBeck began in the 1960’s with the Parkwood Hills community, which included 420 residential lots, 150 apartments units and a commercial area including Clock Tower Court.

Innovation has always been at the front of Park Towne’s developments. In Parkwood Hills, underground wiring, used for the first time in Madison, and the newly emerging concept of green space were used. Several parks and running paths were blended into Parkwood Hills.

In 1969, with the Parkwood Hills development in full swing, Ring and Dohm envisioned the potential for commercial development created by the plans to build West Towne Mall. They formed a partnership to purchase the 177-acre plat of land at Gammon and Mineral Point Roads, creating the Park Towne commercial community. Design controls and deed restrictions bolstered the company’s status as an innovator in land development. Regulated architecture, underground wiring and low profile signage became the signatures of this commercial development.

Initially in Park Towne’s commercial park, lots were sold to businesses. Next, Ring and Dohm developed buildings that they would own and lease, including the Yellowstone Professional Building, US Bank Building, Market Square shopping center, and T.G.I. Friday’s, among others.

Park Towne Management and Park Towne Realty were founded in the early 1980’s to better support existing clients, and offer more service to new customers. The 1990’s saw the biggest internal change in the corporation when Ring and Dohm decided to divide their assets for estate planning purposes. Ring continues with Park Towne and all three of his sons, Mike, Jim and Joe, who have joined the company. Gerald Ring is now the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Park Towne Corporation and Jim is the CEO of the Development division, while Mary Feldt is the COO of the Realty and Management divisions.

With the infusion of the next generation Park Towne started to develop more land. In the late 1990’s Park Towne developed single family lots in Verona, Dane, Sun Prairie, and Baraboo, WI. Park Towne also built a build-to-suit for Econoprint, tore down an old IHOP and built a build-to-suit for Jared Jewelers and also tore down two older buildings and built a mixed-use office and retail center, Town Center Square.

Currently, we are developing our most innovative development yet, Conservancy Place.
